The work Portrait of Amélie du Bois (1803-1891), wife of Lt.-Gen. Emile Joseph Frison, aide to King Leopold II, bust-length, in a blue muslin dress, with flowers in her hair by Alexandre-Jean Dubois-Drahonet was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. It achieved a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,455.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre-Jean Dubois-Drahonet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Frances Anne Vane, Marchioness of Londonderry (1800-1865), full-length, in peeress's robes decorated with jewels and a tiara, inside Westminster Abbey in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 314,500.00 (€ 386,530.65).
