Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction The Artist’s Sketchbook: Where Inspiration Finds Form, which included the work Costume Design For A Cossak General In Stravinsky'S Petrushka by Alexandre Benois. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,376.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre Benois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Revue De La Garde Passée Par L'Empereur Paul Ier Devant Le Château Michel (6 Janvier 1801) in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 482,500.00 (€ 580,624.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Artist’s Sketchbook: Where Inspiration Finds Form durch, in der auch die Arbeit Costume Design For A Cossak General In Stravinsky'S Petrushka von Alexandre Benois zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.376,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexandre Benois erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Revue De La Garde Passée Par L'Empereur Paul Ier Devant Le Château Michel (6 Janvier 1801) im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 482.500,00 (€ 580.624,17).
