(78.7 x 39.3cm.) Executed in 2016
Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Proverbs of Hell (damn braces . bless relaxes) the serpent with flowers and the peacedove by Alexander Tovborg was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,600.96). Other works by Alexander Tovborg have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March last year by the work PROVERBS OF HELL (the road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom) lucifer at USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,037.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Proverbs of Hell (damn braces . bless relaxes) the serpent with flowers and the peacedove von Alexander Tovborg im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.600,96) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Alexander Tovborg wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März letzten Jahres die Arbeit PROVERBS OF HELL (the road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom) lucifer mit USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.037,77).
