Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in New York held the auction European Art Part II, which included the work The Stool of Repentance by Alexander M. Rossi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,170.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander M. Rossi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By The Seaside, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 57,159.89).
