This artwork by Alexander Kharitonov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection auction, the work Fairy Tale No.2 sold for GBP 37,800.00 (€ 45,087.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Kharitonov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian Faith From The Sorceress Series, 1965, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 145,000.00 (€ 93,139.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Kharitonov erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection wurde die Arbeit Fairy Tale No.2 für GBP 37.800,00 (€ 45.087,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Kharitonov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Russian Faith From The Sorceress Series, 1965 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 145.000,00 (€ 93.139,77) versteigert wurde.
