In May 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Pictures, which included the work Lachlan by Alexander Goudie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,900.55), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Goudie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Fruit And Flowers By Lamplight, which sold at auction in August 2006 for GBP 21,600.00 (€ 32,120.57).

Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lachlan von Alexander Goudie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.900,55) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Goudie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit And Flowers By Lamplight beobachtet, die im August 2006 für GBP 21.600,00 (€ 32.120,57) versteigert wurde.
