Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Reclining woman with cat by Alexander Brook was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 697.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Brook - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ned, which sold at auction in March 2005 for USD 2,280.00 (€ 1,758.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Reclining woman with cat von Alexander Brook im Juli 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 697,45) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Brook mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ned beobachtet, die im März 2005 für USD 2.280,00 (€ 1.758,04) versteigert wurde.
