Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Getting dressed; and a companion drawing by Alexander Brook was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in February 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 875.00 (€ 654.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Brook - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ned, which sold at auction in March 2005 for USD 2,280.00 (€ 1,758.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Getting dressed; and a companion drawing von Alexander Brook wurde im Februar 2012 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 875,00 (€ 654,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Brook mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ned beobachtet, die im März 2005 für USD 2.280,00 (€ 1.758,04) versteigert wurde.
