Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ruth, From: Black Dress by Alex Katz was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Christies in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,254.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alex Katz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Umbrella I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,375,000.00 (€ 3,914,757.96).
