Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work It's Been Years by Alex Gardner was worth HKD 856,800.00 (€ 93,070.70) to a buyer in June 2021. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in Association with Poly Auction at Phillips in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alex Gardner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Chair #2 sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of USD 214,200.00 (€ 180,790.01).
