Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Patria B by Alejandro Xul Solar was auctioned at Christies in New York in September last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 50,000.00 (€ 51,109.07). Other works by Alejandro Xul Solar have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2015 by the work Mundo at USD 75,000.00 (€ 71,009.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Patria B von Alejandro Xul Solar im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 50.000,00 (€ 51.109,07) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Alejandro Xul Solar wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2015 die Arbeit Mundo mit USD 75.000,00 (€ 71.009,28).
