seven engravings, 1734, with hand-coloring, on laid papers, published by J. Wetstenium & Gul. Smith & Janssonio Waesbergios, Amsterdam, all with margins, all with pale light- staining, central horizontal folds where previously bound on several plates, minor creasing and surface soiling on several plates, Tab. LXVII with areas of foxing within the image, Tab. LXXV with two diagonal creases across the upper left margin corner, otherwise all apparently in good condition, in cherry-stained burl wood frames and French mats with wash lines, not examined out of the frames

Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Locupletissimi Rerum Naturalium Thesauri: Seven Plates by Albertus Seba for USD 1,195.00 (€ 1,209.39). This price was achieved in the auction THE HOUSE SALE at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Albertus Seba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A group of five Studies of Reptiles and Botanicals in February 2002 with an auction result of USD 4,935.00 (€ 5,699.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Locupletissimi Rerum Naturalium Thesauri: Seven Plates von Albertus Seba für USD 1.195,00 (€ 1.209,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Albertus Seba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A group of five Studies of Reptiles and Botanicals im Februar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.935,00 (€ 5.699,93).
