Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams in Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction American Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Coast Near Newport, Rhode Island by Albert Bierstadt. The price achieved of USD 12,800.00 (€ 12,014.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Bierstadt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indians Spear Fishing in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,321,000.00 (€ 4,705,012.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion American Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Coast Near Newport, Rhode Island von Albert Bierstadt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.800,00 (€ 12.014,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Bierstadt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indians Spear Fishing im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.321.000,00 (€ 4.705.012,85).
