In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Baker's Beach (San Francisco) by Albert Bierstadt. The »bidding war« ended at USD 44,800.00 (€ 41,332.23), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Bierstadt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indians Spear Fishing in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,321,000.00 (€ 4,705,012.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Baker's Beach (San Francisco) von Albert Bierstadt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 44.800,00 (€ 41.332,23) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Bierstadt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indians Spear Fishing im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.321.000,00 (€ 4.705.012,85).
