This work is included in the database being compiled for her forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the artist's work.
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mount Hood, Columbia River by Albert Bierstadt was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2024. Here, the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 302,400.00 (€ 264,289.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Bierstadt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indians Spear Fishing in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,321,000.00 (€ 4,705,012.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mount Hood, Columbia River von Albert Bierstadt kam im Januar 2024 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 302.400,00 (€ 264.289,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Bierstadt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indians Spear Fishing im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.321.000,00 (€ 4.705.012,85).
