Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le chat-cygne by Alain Séchas was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 6,875.00. Admittedly, works by Alain Séchas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chat Cygne, 2003 in June 2013 with an auction result of EUR 28,578.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le chat-cygne von Alain Séchas im Oktober 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 6.875,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alain Séchas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chat Cygne, 2003 im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 28.578,00.
