This artwork by Akseli Gallen-Kallela achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2017. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Finnish rower On The Lake sold for GBP 187,500.00 (€ 211,003.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Akseli Gallen-Kallela have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumn - Five Crosses: A preliminary work for the fresco in the Jusélius Mausoleum in October this year with an auction result of GBP 1,008,000.00 (€ 1,157,464.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Akseli Gallen-Kallela erzielte im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit Finnish rower On The Lake für GBP 187.500,00 (€ 211.003,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Akseli Gallen-Kallela auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autumn - Five Crosses: A preliminary work for the fresco in the Jusélius Mausoleum im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.008.000,00 (€ 1.157.464,04).
