Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Sporting and Wildlife Art, which included the work At dawn by Aiden Lassell Ripley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,082.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aiden Lassell Ripley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Quail Country in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 240,736.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Sporting and Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit At dawn von Aiden Lassell Ripley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.082,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aiden Lassell Ripley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Quail Country im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 240.736,37).
