In November 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work American Single Woodcock by Aiden Lassell Ripley. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,808.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aiden Lassell Ripley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Quail Country in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 240,736.37).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Sporting Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit American Single Woodcock von Aiden Lassell Ripley zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.808,28) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aiden Lassell Ripley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Quail Country im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 240.736,37).
