This artwork by Makoto Aida achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2005. In the 20th Century Chinese Art & Asian Contemporary Art auction, the work Girls Don't Cry sold for HKD 72,000.00 (€ 7,497.94) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Makoto Aida achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ZAKU- (War Picture Returns- Side B) in November 2009 with an auction result of HKD 2,900,000.00 (€ 249,499.80).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Makoto Aida erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art & Asian Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Girls Don't Cry für HKD 72.000,00 (€ 7.497,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Makoto Aida erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ZAKU- (War Picture Returns- Side B) im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.900.000,00 (€ 249.499,80).
