Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Agustín Fernández was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,066.00). Admittedly, works by Agustín Fernández have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September this year with an auction result of USD 40,320.00 (€ 38,095.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Agustín Fernández im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.066,00) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Agustín Fernández auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 38.095,24).
