Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings incl.Leonardo da Vinci's Horse and Rider, which included the work A Study For A Frieze Decorated With A Landscape And Young Satyrs Holding A Garland And Supporting A Medallion Depicting Diana by Agostino Tassi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,653.61), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Agostino Tassi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Shipwreck with Figures, which sold at auction in January 2021 for USD 25,200.00 (€ 20,766.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings incl.Leonardo da Vinci's Horse and Rider durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Study For A Frieze Decorated With A Landscape And Young Satyrs Holding A Garland And Supporting A Medallion Depicting Diana von Agostino Tassi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.653,61) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Agostino Tassi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Shipwreck with Figures beobachtet, die im Januar 2021 für USD 25.200,00 (€ 20.766,38) versteigert wurde.
