Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Five standing musicians by Agostino Tassi was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,859.11). Admittedly, works by Agostino Tassi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Shipwreck with Figures in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 25,200.00 (€ 20,766.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Five standing musicians von Agostino Tassi im Juli 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.859,11) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Agostino Tassi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Shipwreck with Figures im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 20.766,38).
