The work Wide River Landscape With A Castle And A Village, At Sunset by Aert van der Neer was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 80,379.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aert van der Neer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frozen River At Sunset in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 4,757,000.00 (€ 4,213,463.24).
