Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A moonlit landscape with a windmill and figures by a lake by Aert van der Neer was sold in the The Martin Feldstein Collection: Dutch Art in the Golden Age auction at Christies in New York in October 2020. The price achieved of USD 300,000.00 (€ 257,577.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aert van der Neer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frozen River At Sunset in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 4,757,000.00 (€ 4,213,463.24).
