The result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,547.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aert van der Neer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frozen River At Sunset in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 4,757,000.00 (€ 4,213,463.24).

Die Arbeit A river landscape with figures and a cottage among trees on the bank of a stream von Aert van der Neer wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.547,07) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aert van der Neer erzielen.
