The work A moonlit river landscape with a village, a windmill and church beyond, with travellers on a path in the foreground by Aert van der Neer was worth GBP 88,200.00 (€ 103,432.79) to a buyer in July 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Day Sale at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aert van der Neer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frozen River At Sunset in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 4,757,000.00 (€ 4,213,463.24).
