Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Scene of merrymaking, with four people drinking and sleeping at a table in a garden by Aert Schouman was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,400.00 – 3,400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,664.32). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aert Schouman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Helmeted Guinea Fowl And A Black Headed Caïque On A Branch; And A Red Ibis And A Victoria Crowned Pigeon in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 101,481.48).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Helmeted Guinea Fowl And A Black Headed Caïque On A Branch; And A Red Ibis And A Victoria Crowned Pigeon im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.000,00 (€ 101.481,48).
