Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Swans and other birds before a mountainous landscape; and and 18.7 x 14.8cm (7 3/8 x 5 13/16in). (2) by Aert Schouman was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,399.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aert Schouman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Helmeted Guinea Fowl And A Black Headed Caïque On A Branch; And A Red Ibis And A Victoria Crowned Pigeon in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 101,481.48).

(2) von Aert Schouman wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.399,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aert Schouman erzielen.
