Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2002 Christies in London held the auction The Dr Anton C.R.Dreesmann Collection Old Master Pictures, which included the work An Italianate landscape with peasants and cattle in a meadow beneath a cliff, a town in the distance by Aelbert Cuyp. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 64,250.00 (€ 103,954.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aelbert Cuyp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Dordrecht from the end of the Papendrechtse bank of the river Noord in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 2,866,000.00 (€ 3,079,071.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Dr Anton C.R.Dreesmann Collection Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with peasants and cattle in a meadow beneath a cliff, a town in the distance von Aelbert Cuyp zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 64.250,00 (€ 103.954,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aelbert Cuyp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Dordrecht from the end of the Papendrechtse bank of the river Noord im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.866.000,00 (€ 3.079.071,77).
