This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings Day Sale at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aelbert Cuyp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Dordrecht from the end of the Papendrechtse bank of the river Noord in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 2,866,000.00 (€ 3,079,071.77).
