In January 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures and Watercolours, which included the work Sur la falaise by Adrien Moreau. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,934.73), 65% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adrien Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Carnival Procession in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 61,100.00 (€ 68,207.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sur la falaise von Adrien Moreau zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.934,73) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adrien Moreau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Carnival Procession im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.100,00 (€ 68.207,19).
