Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Relicario do braço de São Bento by Adriana Varejão. The price achieved of USD 242,500.00 (€ 186,395.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Adriana Varejão have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II) in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,301,892.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Relicario do braço de São Bento von Adriana Varejão zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 242.500,00 (€ 186.395,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adriana Varejão auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Parede com Incisões a la Fontana II (Wall with Incisions a la Fontana II) im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.105.250,00 (€ 1.301.892,03).
