In January 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolors Including an Important Canadian Collection and a Distinguished Private Collection, which included the work A Seated Female Nude by Adriaen van de Velde. The »bidding war« ended at USD 230,500.00 (€ 169,684.92), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriaen van de Velde - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View from the Dunes out to Sea, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 562,500.00 (€ 659,647.88).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 230.500,00 (€ 169.684,92) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Adriaen van de Velde mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View from the Dunes out to Sea beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 562.500,00 (€ 659.647,88) versteigert wurde.
