Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A landscape with Mercury, Argus and Io by Adriaen van de Velde was sold in the Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection auction at Christies in New York in October 2019. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,425.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen van de Velde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View from the Dunes out to Sea in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 562,500.00 (€ 659,647.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A landscape with Mercury, Argus and Io von Adriaen van de Velde wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.425,82) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adriaen van de Velde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View from the Dunes out to Sea im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 562.500,00 (€ 659.647,88).
