Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Adriaen van de Velde achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2017. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work A Rider By Resting Herders sold for USD 47,500.00 (€ 44,005.93) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen van de Velde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View from the Dunes out to Sea in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 562,500.00 (€ 659,647.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Adriaen van de Velde erzielte im Januar 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit A Rider By Resting Herders für USD 47.500,00 (€ 44.005,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adriaen van de Velde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View from the Dunes out to Sea im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 562.500,00 (€ 659.647,88).
