In September 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Canal In A Dutch Town by Adriaan Marinus Geyp. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,075.50 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriaan Marinus Geyp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seasons: a forest path in summer; and A forest path in autumn, which sold at auction in February 2004 for EUR 2,987.50.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Canal In A Dutch Town von Adriaan Marinus Geyp zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.075,50 und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Adriaan Marinus Geyp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seasons: a forest path in summer; and A forest path in autumn beobachtet, die im Februar 2004 für EUR 2.987,50 versteigert wurde.
