Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A day at the beach by Adrianus Cornelis van Noort was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,560.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Adrianus Cornelis van Noort have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2001 the work Children on the beach, Zandvoort was auctioned for EUR 1,645.00.
