The work Rising Sun by Adolph Alexander Weinman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2017. It achieved a price of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,950.89), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Admittedly, works by Adolph Alexander Weinman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chief Black Bird, Ogalalla Sioux in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 205,000.00 (€ 131,680.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rising Sun von Adolph Alexander Weinman kam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.950,89) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adolph Alexander Weinman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chief Black Bird, Ogalalla Sioux im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 205.000,00 (€ 131.680,37).
