Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Chief Black Bird, Ogalalla Sioux by Adolph Alexander Weinman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 62,051.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adolph Alexander Weinman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chief Black Bird, Ogalalla Sioux, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 205,000.00 (€ 131,680.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chief Black Bird, Ogalalla Sioux von Adolph Alexander Weinman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 62.051,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Adolph Alexander Weinman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Chief Black Bird, Ogalalla Sioux beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 205.000,00 (€ 131.680,37) versteigert wurde.
