Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mary Painting Pottery, Acoma (1902); Hopi Snake Dance; and Untitled by Adam Clark Vroman was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,115.00 (€ 2,326.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Clark Vroman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Oraibi Woman At Window in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 41,800.00 (€ 26,849.95).
