This artwork by Adalbert Suchy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2021. In the Old Master Paintings and Portrait Miniatures auction, the work Portrait Of Archduchess Karolina Ferdinanda Of Austria, Crown Princess Of Saxony (1801-1832), Circa 1819 sold for GBP 1,638.00 (€ 1,884.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Adalbert Suchy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Maria Carolina of Habsburg (1752-1814), Queen of Naples, facing left in lace-bordered white silk dress with fichu, white sash tied in bow at waist, lace cap with ribbons in her curling hair tied under her chin sold at auction in November 2001 with the realized price of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,365.63).
