Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham Willemsens was auctioned at Christies in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,820.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Willemsens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A peasant family in a yard, which sold at auction in November 2001 for EUR 30,550.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Sacrifice of Isaac von Abraham Willemsens kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.820,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Abraham Willemsens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A peasant family in a yard beobachtet, die im November 2001 für EUR 30.550,00 versteigert wurde.
