Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Saint Cecilia at the organetto in a garden by Abraham Willemsens was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,787.22). Admittedly, works by Abraham Willemsens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A peasant family in a yard in November 2001 with an auction result of EUR 30,550.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Saint Cecilia at the organetto in a garden von Abraham Willemsens im Oktober 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.787,22) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abraham Willemsens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A peasant family in a yard im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 30.550,00.
