Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St. Jerome by Abraham van Dijck was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,406.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham van Dijck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Black Dress And Red Shawl, Holding A Flower, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 54,500.00 (€ 74,056.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit St. Jerome von Abraham van Dijck kam im Januar 2009 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 24.406,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
