Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Probably Johannes Van Zell (Born Circa 1620), Seated Half-Length, Wearing A Gold Embroidered Waistcoat And A Crimson Fur-Trimmed Coat, Holding A Letter by Abraham van Dijck was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Dijck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Black Dress And Red Shawl, Holding A Flower in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 54,500.00 (€ 74,056.26).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Probably Johannes Van Zell (Born Circa 1620), Seated Half-Length, Wearing A Gold Embroidered Waistcoat And A Crimson Fur-Trimmed Coat, Holding A Letter von Abraham van Dijck kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham van Dijck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Black Dress And Red Shawl, Holding A Flower im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.500,00 (€ 74.056,26).
