Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With A Ham On A Wan-Li Kraak Dish, A Fallen Silver Beaker, A Mustard Jar And Grapes, All On A Table Draped With A White Cloth by Abraham Susenier was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,843.58). Other works by Abraham Susenier have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2008 by the work Vanitas Still Life With A Skull, Feathers, An Overturned Roemer, A Sculpture And A Portfolio Of Drawings at USD 85,000.00 (€ 57,273.77).

Als die Arbeit Still Life With A Ham On A Wan-Li Kraak Dish, A Fallen Silver Beaker, A Mustard Jar And Grapes, All On A Table Draped With A White Cloth von Abraham Susenier im Dezember 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.843,58) den Besitzer.
