The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,345.62), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Susenier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vanitas Still Life With A Skull, Feathers, An Overturned Roemer, A Sculpture And A Portfolio Of Drawings, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 85,000.00 (€ 57,273.77).
