Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Winter scene with figures being rescued from the ice by Abraham Rademaker was worth USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,237.96) to a buyer in January last year. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abraham Rademaker; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View Of Nijmegen, With Boatmen Loading Barges In The Foreground sold at auction in January 2010 with the realized price of USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,222.06).
