Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work On the Scheldt, low tide; On the Scheldt, sunset by Abraham Hulk was worth GBP 25,250.00 (€ 29,662.25) to a buyer in March 2021. This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abraham Hulk; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Dutch Barges In A Calm sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of EUR 50,650.00.
